Transgender
If Jim and Sasha Allen got on The Voice Live Shows, they set records because Sasha was the first openly transgender singer on the NBC reality show to make it past the Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons. The Newtown duo of Jim and Sasha Allan, are currently in the Top 8 in the 21-year history of the live shows on The Voice! Sasha declared that he's transgender on the Blind Auditions package. He said to Parade.com that it took some time to make that decision. "That was a difficult choice because you're exposing a sensitive part of yourself to millions and billions of people," said Sasha, who was transgender while in high school. "But last week, during the week of fan-worship], witnessing people's support and responses and the way it affected people really showed that the decision was worthwhile and the right decision regardless of it being an extremely difficult decision to make." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is one of the songs that was on a list of songs that we've been wanting to feature on The Voice for quite a long time,"" Sasha told Parade.com. The song was played before The Voice even existed. It was an amazing surprise. We knew the song, and already knew, and we had many thoughts of how to set it up. Fans truly hit the mark."
